A Sunday's Experience

22nd February, Sunday, our school arranged a programme in which our President Sir, invited some guests from Kolkata to come to our school and show the space with the help of telescope. The programme started by honouring our guests with bouquet of flowers. Then the guest started the programme by singing a beautiful song and telling the history behind the song. Our guest whose name is Dr. Sankar Kumar Nath started the next programme which was 'slide showing'. By this event we came to know about Bruno who sacrified his life to tell the truth that 'the Earth is revolving around the sun', which was against what written in Bible. We also got to know more about the planets in our solar system. After that, we went to the roof top of college building, and saw moon through telescope. The creters and depressions of the moon was clearly visible through the telescope and we also saw the planet Jupiter. And by this event we came to know that Jupiter can be seen by naked eyes and that the brightest star seen from the Earth is 'Sirius'. I enjoyed very much that day. All thanks to President Sir who organised such a knowledgable programme for us.
